This was an amazing course with an awesome instructor. I have anxiety and I was nervous all the way up until I walked in the door. Wes really made it a comfortable environment and asking questions was encouraged. As a class, we laughed a lot, but we also knew to take the information seriously. I came home raving about how I’d be willing to go back even if a friend was going and I was just along for the ride. It really was a great class. In today’s world, everyone who’s even thinking about the class, should go ahead and take it. 10/10 recommend this class. This Class was beyond anything I have ever attended. I have friend who took a CCW class elsewhere and he said it was the most boring thing he’s ever took. My other friend, who took this same class with Reese Firearms, was so delighted with this class. They never held a weapon much less fired one and they were so ecstatic with this course. I knew I had to take it. I called and scheduled and Wes was super friendly and laid back. When class time came, I showed up and Wes greeted me with a firm handshake. To me, a firm handshake shows confidence. The class was as everyone says it was, clear, concise and humorous. You need humor for such a long seat time, however, that seat time seem to fly. When M. Maske, who was the Representative for U.S. LawShield, came in and explained the importance of having coverage for your CCW, regardless of who you decide to go with, was so vital. Understanding the processes that transpires once you discharge your weapon or any object used as a weapon to defend yourself and family, is not only vital but can be confusing. Choose wisely, but more importantly, choose smartly. He will answer everything. Once the class session was over, we all headed to the range. Once again, Wes was very meticulous and thorough with the proper handling of the weapon and conveyed all of this information to the class in a stress free way. Once the mandatory targets were completed, the real fun began. We were able to fire different calibers and sizes of various handguns. It really was a pleasure spending the day at a great class with a great instructor. I highly recommend any and everyone who is thinking about getting their CCW to enroll in a class with Reese Firearms. I am looking forward to attending the other courses he offers to broaden my knowledge. Protect yourself when you conceal carry either with U.S. LawShield or any viable legal defense team that fits your needs best. I don’t think I can expand anymore on what has been said in earlier reviews. I can say that being the last of my buddies to take a CCW class, the main complaint has been that the classes have been incredibly dry and a chore to sit through. This is most definitely not the case with Wes. He is engaging and presents the subject matter in such a way as to keep the class interesting. He is extremely organized, knowledgeable and is a natural at teaching others. I was impressed with how he greeted each participant personally when they came through the door. The range portion of the class was well organized and ensured the safety of all. Great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to obtain a concealed carry permit. Derek R.

If you are looking for a fun and informative firearms instructor, Wes is the man to go to. Regardless of your experience with firearms, his courses are truly enjoyable. He makes everyone feel welcome from the second they walk in the door. I spent eight years in the Marine Corps infantry and thought the class was going to be dull. I was very wrong. Wes makes the classroom time a blast. In the beginning, you could tell some of the students were a little nervous, but Wes was able to put everyone at ease. My wife and I took the Concealed Carry class with Wes this past weekend, and it was really great. Wes is very knowledgeable, and he’s also funny and engaging—and he’s inclusive of shooters at any skill level. We had folks in our class who had never even held a firearm, some who were clearly dedicated enthusiasts, and many who were right in the middle. Everyone was treated respectfully, and any questions were answered thoroughly and without any judgment, no matter how basic or advanced. You also can’t beat the price of this class. A firearm and ammunition are provided for you (unless you want to use your own), and you can hang out after the qualifying is done to shoot a lot of different handguns. You just don’t see this done in a lot of classes .. and certainly not at this price! Safety is paramount, so you feel secure at the range, and even though it’s a long day in the classroom, Wes makes it fun and keeps it moving along at a brisk pace. I’ll definitely be recommending this class to any of my friends who are interested in getting their CCW permit, and my wife and I are already planning on registering for the Advanced Handgun class. I took this class with my husband and my dad. I was quite nervous never having spent much time around guns before. I was so happy to see that Wes had a class every week, and I was able to book the class online quickly and easily. Wes made the class work for people with zero experience or for people with lots. I also really enjoyed the fact that he let us shoot his handguns after class. Do not underestimate the importance of this. It is hard to find a handgun that you like, and he gives you the opportunity to test out several, so that you can make a good decision before spending money on your first handgun. Carrying a gun is not something to ‘just do’; it is a change in your way of life. Wes has a great way of bringing all of these points to the forefront. I was very happy with this class. I brought my friend my mother in law and my brother to the class on feb 18th. Wes is a great instructor and very knowledgeable. He takes his time to answer any question that someone might have and does a great job with all of the presentations. You will go in thinking i have to sit here from 8-5:30 in the evening, but it goes by fast with the fun and interactions in the class. Dont be shy with wes because he is a great guy and if you are scared about anything he will coach you along. He has an amazing selection of firearms to hold and see, as well as at the end of the class you can shoot them to see how comfortable you feel. this is so it will make your buying selection a little easier. Class was great enough that my family friend and sister in law and my wife are going to take it. – Chris

I had seached for weeks looking for a class. I spoke with a couple of instructors but would always end back up on Reese firearms website. I decided to call and Wes answered the phone. He had an extended conversation with me on all that his class offere, he made with feel very comfortable and confident. After speaking with him I didn’t hesitate to take his class. The class was everything that he said it would be. He was hands on, didn’t hesitate to answer any questions and also allowed us to try different firearms after our training was over. He was GREAT. I wasn’t looking forward to sitting in a class for 9 hours and heard some horror stories about some classes. I choose Reese firearms to attend my class because of the close location. Instructor Wes greets everybody personally at the door and remembers everyone’s name immediately. I can say that after hearing my sister talk about how much of a snooze fest her CCW class was I was hesitant to take one. Upon entering the class for Reese firearms I was greeted warmly and thoroughly enjoyed the class. Perhaps because I am the progeny of sailors or because Wes is honestly a personable instructor (the exam is up to you) the class was outstanding and if I am 100% honest I am thinking of taking it again. Not because I did poorly or shot horribly but because Wes is honestly one that one in a million person that makes the classroom portion enjoyable and well worth the monies paid for the service. And just an fyi, I am an otr driver who is home only one week in seven so let that sink in when I say I am willing to spend another entire day with Wes teaching a class. Take this class!  Come on you know you want to!!!  Seriously Wes is a storehouse of knowledge about CCW and best instructor yet. You’ll actually have fun learning.  Wes mixes law, practical considerations and “hands on” with a serious number of different firearms.  This was my third experience ( gotta quit moving to different states) in a NRA basic pistol class and the best yet! – Charlie
